Pennhurst Past



PHOTOGRAPHER’S JOURNAL: 

A central corridor lined with rooms, 
each room a yesterday, beds lining 
walls the color of watery pea soup, 
the smell of amnesia in the still air, 
and pillows full of memory, forgotten.

Seeing it like this, one wonders how it can possibly be still standing...and not totally swept away from memory?!

And yet this is the one they are hoping to save. The roof looks like a rib cage.
