Scorpion Garden #2

T.S. Eliot: The world revolves like ancient women gathering fuel in vacant lots.

PHOTOGRAPHER'S JOURNAL:

What Need

to find the nexus
between this sprite
and the weight of coal
that has been borne here
like
a flowing river
from the heart of mother earth
to fires
remaking
everything

OMG. I loved #1 but this one even more. It's the fella with the sunglasses, I think. :) But T.S. Eliot's quote is the kicker!

I didn't know you were partial to T.S. Eliot. U used to especially love reading Preludes with kids, but after I stopped teaching in Boston, the poem didn't resonate as well with rural kids. What a beautiful song it is!
