PHOTOGRAPHER'S JOURNAL:

Time Travel

The past is always here,
always elusive,
like a familiar smell
that lets you know
you're home,

though you are a half world away,

and when you finally
get back to
the disfigured
place that had been

home,

you search for that smell,
crave it,
even as you
sip mouthfuls of heartless dust and
savor mildew's inky sting.
