Shadow and Light

PHOTOGRAPHER'S DIARY: After living with this image since last fall, my strongest impulse is to want to go back to Straight Farm to find other angles that will solve problems and make better use of what was best there. Alas, the likelihood that such an opportunity will come again is low, nor am I totally displeased with the composition.

This reminds me a a garden we visited in Vancouver back in October of 2006, Ted! I'm so glad you posted it!

We have the spring - no snow at all here this year, though a cold snap has been promised. It would be refreshing to see a few flakes!

Very pleasant photo - the rich colours complement the lines well.

Hi Ginnie - Are you thinking of the big public garden in Vancouver? If so, Jane and I made a quick visit there a number of years back. It was wonderful. Another friend imagined this as the beginning of an enchanted children's adventure.

Julie - Even I am ready for something to stir in the roots and branches or at least one of those perfumed breezes of early spring. Where can I mail your now to? Thanks for your comment. The weakness of the photo is that perhaps not quite enough happens on the right side and the right, front texture is not especially interesting.

Thanks to both of you for stopping by.
